About Abstract

Overview

There is a need and demand for providing wider range of data/ information on important issues, to facilitate formulation of good development policies and for proper planning management and monitoring of investment in the fast and rapidly growing economies. Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Rajasthan publishes many statistical abstracts on regular basis like Statistical Abstract, Basic Statistics, Socio Economic Statistics, Some Facts about Rajasthan, District Statistical Outlines and other adhoc publications etc. Most of the publications are published annually. For each publication, fresh data is sought from all concerned departments even the format of the data remains same. In this system, publishing a publication within time frame is very difficult. Most of publications are published late by 1 or 2 years. It is felt to automate the data collection and compilation process so that publication can be published within time frame. By referencing the book 'Statistical Abstract- 2012' and study conducted on various level, online system of data collection and abstract generation is devised. Statistical abstract has approximate 36 sectors and 80 departments/Sections. Every department/section is associated with specific fields.

In the online system, all department/section are provided access to the portal to submit the data related to their department/section online. Data Compilation part is automated so that error free data can be generated and timely generation of publications.
